Meet Marissa

Knowing the photographer and style are key to creating images you want during your session!

{About the Photographer}

My interest in photography stems from watching my mother photograph everything, and I mean everything, when I was a young girl. I have always loved photography, graphic design, and other forms of art. I studied Photojournalism at Pittsburg State University and worked for a local photography studio. Upon graduation, I relocated to the Hoosier state (Indiana), where I taught for Indiana State University. In May 2014, I made the decision to enroll as a doctoral student at the University of Kansas and became a Kansan once again. I am currently finishing my doctoral degree, and photographing all the goodness that Kansas and Indiana has to offer!

{About the Style}

I am a natural light and off-camera lighting photographer. I love using the beauty of natural light, but also work to create dramatic lighting for a gorgeous range of color in the images. I create a unique session experience by showcasing desired locations, colors, and interests of all of my clients. I always welcome any ideas that you may have, but I will work to provide the most unique and enjoyable experience during your session!

{About the Location}

At this time, all locations are selected outdoors and within Kansas City Metro and Indianapolis Metro area. If you wish to book a session outside of this area, please contact MW Photography for travel information. And of course, if you follow my life through Instagram, you know I am a wanderlust at heart, so destination weddings are also my jam!
